One of the many ministries offered to our youth at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation is participation in the Junior Choir. Each Sunday, during the Sunday School program, students in grades 4 through 7 rehearse the music of the Divine Liturgy. Here, the students are introduced to the responses and hymns of our church and learn their significance to the liturgy. They rehearse both in English and Greek phoenetics. At various times during the year the Junior Choir is invited to chant these hymns during Sunday services.
Youth Choir Director:
Stephanie Vakoutis - B.S., M.Ed., Towson State University. Mrs. Vakoutis has served the Cathedral as director of the Junior Choir for 25 years. She is also the teacher of vocal music at Roland Park Elementary/Middle School.
