Now Open!
St. John the Baptist Orthodox Adult Day center opened in early June 2010 serving the Greek, Russian and Antioch communities. St. John’s is located at 10947 Golden West Drive in Hunt Valley.
El Shaddai Health Care is partnering with the Orthodox community to cater to the needs of this population. Below is a brief overview of the center.
- All meals will be prepared on site by our Greek chef. Breakfast, a hot lunch and snack will be served.
- Our Activity Coordinator is thrilled with the number of volunteers who want to assist with our therapeutic recreation department. She will be planning many trips to shop, cultural events, luncheons and areas of interest as well as a full range of activities on site.
- Our Registered Nurse will be able to dispense medications with a physician’s order, perform injections such as insulin, treat wounds and monitor for all medical needs. Our care team includes an interdisciplinary approach and strives to meet the needs of each individual.
- The center will be open Monday through Friday with extended hours. Our catchment area includes Baltimore County and City, Carroll, Ann Arundel and Howard Counties.
- We offer transportation to and from the center, and to medical appointments scheduled during non drive time hours.
- We offer assistance with all activities of daily living such as toileting, feeding and showers.
- Our Physical Therapist will be on site two days a week.
- Religious services will be held often at the center.
If you know of someone who is interested in attending, please call Pat Bartsocas at (410) 329-1444, (410) 329-1533 (fax), or email her at patb@stjohnamdc.com. She is available to visit in your home and coordinate all of the paperwork to make this process as simple as possible for the participant and their loved ones.
Our goal is to increase the quality of life for each participant so they can remain in the community at optimal functioning. Our philosophy is: “TO CARE ALWAYS.”
