Mission of the Women’s Guild

The Annunciation Women’s Guild is an organization within the Cathedral community whose purpose is to raise funds for the restoration and improvement of all Cathedral properties and furnishings, The Reverend George P. Gallos Education Building and Resource Center, and the Annunciation Orthodox Center.  All women of the community are members of the Women’s Guild.  Your participation is welcomed and needed.

 

Completed Projects Include…

  • Altar robes & altar covers, altar storage cabinet, reproduction of the baptismal table
  • Restoration and framing of St. John the Baptist icon
  • Cathedral chandelier & gold crown molding
  • Gilding of the Tabernacle, Holy Table, restored Tiffany window
  • Restoration of pews, new pew cushions and book racks
  • Refurbishing of entrances & continual restoration of Cathedral main doors
  • Intercom system, air conditioning & kitchen freezer
  • The Youth Center Room and Youth office
  • Lounge & refurbishing of Mentis room
  • Painting and carpeting of Cathedral offices and classrooms
  • Window sill repairs, wooden floors & Pangari
  • Sunday School carpet & draperies, Board Room draperies
  • 1st floor restroom remodeling for handicap accessibility
  • Social Hall tables & installation of sound system
  • Landscaping and reconstruction of Cathedral courtyard
  • Replacement of floor tile in the Father Constantine M. Monios Hall, foyer, corridor and steps to Maryland Avenue
