Annunciation GOYA News 10/10/2011

Our next GOYA meeting will be on Friday, October 21st @ 7pm in the youth room followed by the Fall Harvest Party Family Night.

  •  Goya group photos for the Ad Book will be taken at meeting (Bring your Uniform)!
  • Basta Pasta dinner/mtg has been rescheduled to Fri, Feb 3rd

 General Notes:

  • Thank you for volunteering at the Choir Conference  :)   It was truly appreciated.
  • Basketball team photos will be taken at practices this week! Bring your orange jersey
  • Revised calendar is on bottom of this email.
  • Also, turn in your registration forms and dues. (list of paid members is attached)

 St. George Basketball Tournament: game schedules will be emailed out the end of the week

  • This weekend Oct. 15 & 16 -wear orange spiritwear with a dash a pink
  • Saturday morning – Registration, breakfast/lunch meals and all Saturday games will beplayed at Northern Virginia Sportsplex (previously Hoop Magic -14810 MURDOCKST., CHANTILLY, VA 20151 ). 
  • All Saturday Evening and Sunday events (including Divine Liturgy) will take place at St.George Church (7701 Bradley Boulevard, Bethesda, Maryland 20817). 
  • Non players are more than welcome to come cheer on all our Goya teams!!

    • Basketball UNIFORMS: For all new players, the uniform is $80. Let Mrs. Eleni at seroros@verizon.net know what size you will need as well as the spelling of the last name as it will appear on the back of the jersey. The uniform consists of shorts and jersey.

    • Our Tournament will be at Park School on Nov 19 & 20th.
    • Ads
      • All GOYANs are required to sell $200 worth of adin order to participate. Ads are due October 21st.
      • For those interested in going on the Christmas Excursion to NY/St. Basil’s Academy,remember that the more ads you sell the less it will cost.  $300 worth of ads – $50 off trip, $400 worthof ads – $100 off, $500 worth of ads – TRIP IS FREE.  If you need some suggestions or help inselling or have any questions, please contact Tereza Roros at pinkbballgirl94@verizon.net.

      • Due to the generosity of Mr. Jeff Pillas and Mr.Chuck Paterakis and H&S Bakery, you have an added incentive to sell ads.Each will donate 10% of ad sales to GOYA.  So now there is really a financial incentivefor all of you to go out and sell ads for the 2011 GOYA Basketball TournamentAd Book.  Since these donors are willingto match 10% of your sales, we should aim to sell $10,000 in ads to bolsterGOYA’s treasury.  Thank you again to Mr.Jeff Pillas and Mr. Chuck Paterakis for their generosity and let’s get sellingthose ads.
