The St. John Oratorical Festival is held annually in the spring for the 7th through 12th grades in the Sunday School program. This Festival is an important opportunity for young people to research and prepare 3 to 5 minute speeches expressing their thoughts and knowledge about different aspects of Orthodox saints’ lives, liturgical cycles, hymns, doctrines and traditions. The oratorical themes and topics change each year. The speeches are presented at the local level and finalists proceed to the District, Metropolis and National Festivals.
